Now, onto the card. I did a lot of layering (as the sketch challenge outlined) and distressed to make it masculine. I typically do not stamp on pattern paper, but it worked here. Somehow...I was able to stamp right in the middle of the print...how devine! I distressed the "31" with white chalk to 'age' it. Today, is Mac's birthday, so I decided to do a posting especially for him. He hasn't even seen this card yet, but he will now :) He is obviously 31 today. He's not old, but older than me and I say that he likes to have a younger woman in her twenties! It's great to celebrate birthdays and he REALLY loves to celebrate his. I have known Mac for 16 years, with him for 11 years, and married for 3 years (well ALMOST).
So, here are 31 top reasons I am happy to celebrate his 31st with him today:
- to share this journey of life with him + his love
- to be able to see those good looks
- to have his smile brighten up my day
- the charm that no one can imitate
- his appreciation of the arts
- his understanding...of ME
- his negotiation skills (even if I am embarrassed sometimes)
- his desire for travel
- his appreciation for photography
- his honesty
- his spiritual based beliefs that we share
- his web savvy
- his simple pallette of PB & J sandwiches
- his ability to accept change
- his silly personality
- his love for Ozzy (our dog)
- his love for my cooking
- his interest in electronic gadgets
- his desire to be better
- his ability to have fun...all of the time
- his tidyness
- his appreciation of conversation
- his non-obsession with sports (WOOO!)
- his laugh
- his gap
- his attentiveness to me
- his successful career
- his ability with people...ALL people
- how he makes "friends' everywhere...all of the time
- his charisma
- his non-aging appearance - you wear 31 well!
