Branches of a Tree
I don't always stamp and make cards or other 'stuff.' On Sunday, I went to a cooking demo at Williams-Sonoma. I really like that store, but it's quite pricey. I only purchased some of their sauces for quick "make ahead meals." Some of their items will definitely be on my wish list for the holidays! I love food and preparing it, but not baking. I'm not into sweets at all. For most, that is a shocker. I'd take a bowl of mashed potatoes over a piece of chocolate cake any day!
Anyway, my DH finally installed shelves in my closet in my studio, which means...MORE SPACE to store all of my goodies! So, last night I made a couple of cards while I watched (and helped) him install the shelves. Then, I started organizing. My studio looks like an F5 tornado or category 5 hurricane made landfall. I'm not sure how I've been working in there, but I made do! I did not finish cleaning...well...because I was overwhelmed with all of this STUFF. So, I hope to get finished in the next two days, making sure I put things away where I want them and can work in organized harmony.
This is a new stamp I purchased at Scrapdoodles. It is by Maya Road. I even made a holiday card from this stamp set, which only comes with a tree, apple, and bird. I'll share the holiday card later once I finish my holiday card collection for this year. This card was simple to make. I did it while watching one of the four movies we watched over the weekend (during tropical storm Hanna). We watched Vantage Point, Dexter (season 2), Prom Night, and Meet the Browns. All of them were very enjoyable. It was perfect movie-watching + stamping weather! I stamped the tree + sentiment on the kraft cardstock. The bird was stamped on a scrap piece of kraft cardstock, then cut out. I adhered the kraft cardstock to the blue cardstock. A brown satin ribbon is tied around the blue cardstock. I added the patter paper and adhered them all to the card base. The final touch was the bird popping off and stickles on the tree.
These are some of the branches of my tree!
