I know...I know...I said I was not going to post, but I couldn't resist sharing more good news...and a card I forgot to post or did I?! Nichole Heady selected my card as December's Guest Star Stamper for Best Masculine Card! YAAAAY! Masculine cards are the most difficult cards to make sometimes, so it was a true challenge. I'm so excited about winning and feel like Christmas is already here. So, please go by the Papertrey Ink forum and see all of the submissions! By the way, the forum is 'acting up' so you may not be able to access it today, but try again through the holidays!
I plan to have a blog candy give-a-way during next week. So, please be sure to check back soon to find out what goodies I are on the blog candy list. It will be a Christmas Day give-a-way/drawing! Let's just say someone's Christmas will be extra special with some paper craft supplies!
Oh yeah, check out Mac's blog...wish everyone happy holidays. I'm the 'model' and decorated the box with a simple green satin ribbon from Paper Source; the box is from Papertrey Ink! OK...back to making some gifts!
Thank you for all of your supportive and encouraging comments and e-mails on my recent news! You all are the greatest!
To make this card:
- Make card base by trimming brown cardstock to 11" x 4.25", then scoring at 5.5".
- Trim blue cardstock into a square to center on card base; ink around the edges.
- Trim kraft cardstock into a square to fit the center of the blue cardstock.
- Using a stamp-a-ma-jig, stamp around the edges of the kraft cardstock with the border {link} stamp. TIP: Make sure you only ink the portion of the border stamp that you need to prent from over-stamping on a part of the cardstock you do not want to stamp on. Also, overlap a link to get a continuous frame effect. Take your time!
- Stamp sentiment inside of the frame on the draft cardstock, then ink around the edges and adhere it to the blue square.
- Using a circle punch, create a circle out of white cardstock and ink around the edges (lightly).
- Stamp sailboat on brown and blue cardstocks and heat emboss with clear embossing powder and cut out.
- Adhere sailboat to the cirle with dimensionals.
- Add a small piece of ribbon to the left side of the sailboat underneath the circle.
- Pop the circle off of the squares/card base.
