Happy Birthday, M

Today is my brother-in-law's birthday. I tried to make a masculine card again, but this time without using the nautical theme because that just gets old! I tell you, guy cards are SO hard! I chose to do a mini pocket card and distress everything. I added faux stitching (mainly because my sewing machine is broken - I think I break every one!).

I like the front pocket because you can sneak an extra note or gift in there!

Here is how I made this one:
  1. Made card base by trimming kraft cardstock to 4.25" x 11" then scored at 5.5"
  2. Trim black cardstock to about 4" x 5.25"
  3. Trim pattern paper to about 3.75"x 5" then mat on black cardstock
  4. Distress the edges of everything
  5. With a scrap piece of kraft cardstock create a pocket. Tear the top part. Paper pierce the edges, then draw a line across holes to create faux stitching.
  6. Adhere to pattern paper using dimensionals.
  7. Die cut tag and distress. Stamp sentiment on it.
  8. On pocket, add twine, letter thicker, felt star (a die cut already on hand) and button.
  9. Punch and set eyelets, then adhere card front to card base.
