Today is my brother-in-law's birthday. I tried to make a masculine card again, but this time without using the nautical theme because that just gets old! I tell you, guy cards are SO hard! I chose to do a mini pocket card and distress everything. I added faux stitching (mainly because my sewing machine is broken - I think I break every one!).
I like the front pocket because you can sneak an extra note or gift in there!
Here is how I made this one:
- Made card base by trimming kraft cardstock to 4.25" x 11" then scored at 5.5"
- Trim black cardstock to about 4" x 5.25"
- Trim pattern paper to about 3.75"x 5" then mat on black cardstock
- Distress the edges of everything
- With a scrap piece of kraft cardstock create a pocket. Tear the top part. Paper pierce the edges, then draw a line across holes to create faux stitching.
- Adhere to pattern paper using dimensionals.
- Die cut tag and distress. Stamp sentiment on it.
- On pocket, add twine, letter thicker, felt star (a die cut already on hand) and button.
- Punch and set eyelets, then adhere card front to card base.
