Medical Thanks

Happy Sunday! I'm still relaxing. I didn't get to watch my movies yesterday, but hopefully today I definitely will. I'm not feeling too creative, which I hate when I have all the time in the world to devote to it. Does that ever happen to anyone else. This card took me HOURS to make. It was the color combination that I just could never decide on. Anyway...

Ever been to the hospital? Well, if so you may want to thank your medical staff for their assistance and support. That is why I created this card as a medical themed-thank you! It could be that your doctor helped you resolve an issue or you had a baby could be a couple of reasons to send the staff a note of thanks.

My cousin, Brigitte, is a labor and delivery nurse/supervisor at Wishard in Indianapolis. Many nurses there read my blog, so this card is for you and the hard work you put in to make the lives of many so much better! This post is a shout out to Wishard! So, all the nurses at Wishard, please leave a comment...I know you're out there! Hurry up because someone probably needs an epidural soon!

Want to learn how to make this card? It's an easy 10-step process to follow. Here's how:
  1. Make card base by trimming olive cardstock to 4.25" x 11", then score at 5.5".
  2. Trim linen vellum to about 3.25" x 4.125".
  3. Cut square from kraft cardstock 2.5" x 2.25" then stamp stethoscope in brown ink.
  4. Stamp hearts (one is heat embossed using clear embossing powder on brown cardstock, the other is simply stamped with brown ink on kraft cardstock).
  5. Adhere kraft square to vellum using dimensionals.
  6. Tie ribbon around vellum and kraft square and tie into a knot.
  7. Adhere vellum to card base.
  8. Adhere hearts (after cutting them out) to the side using dimensionls.
  9. Stamp sentiment in brown ink.
  10. Add pearl.

What a great idea for a card. I love the large clear-embossed heart. I like the stethoscope stamp you used.
