Card Creations 7 Blog Tour
Happy Friday Everyone! This is not a typical Fast Friday Card post, but I'm sure you're still going to like it! The anniversary card I gave McArthur last year is pictured above. It is featured in Paper Crafts Card Creations 7 magazine (which was released Tuesday, June 23rd).
My Inspiration
I'm not sure about everyone else, but wedding keepsakes are important to me; however, they are all stashed away in a drawer. I was determined to use some of my own wedding keepsakes for an anniversary card. To make this card, I started with an A7 (or 5" x 7") card. I found a sentimental picture, then adhered it to the card front. Next, I grabbed some leftover satin ribbon that I used at the reception.
A Bit About the Ribbon
One of our wedding favors was a DVD copy of the Perfect Proposal (a TLC show that aired a few years ago featuring McArthur proposing to me). To package the DVD, we placed them in a bag and secured the bag with satin ribbon and a tag with the guests name and their table name. We purchased lots of ribbon for fear that we would run out, so I ended up with a great amount of ribbon leftover. I tied the ribbon around the card front (cutting a slit on the fold of the card) and used an antique metal ribbon charm to dress the card up a bit. To add some texture, I stitched around the card using a sewing machine. And the final touch was to add a sentiment. Last, I inked the edges of the sentiment and the card to add a vintage touch.

«Oldest ‹Older 401 – 418 of 418What a beautiful card! I think I have a whole bunch of pictures that could be used for cards for loved ones. TFS And I have to get that magazine - it looks fabulous!
I wish I had gathered up some sand and sea shells from the beach that I got married on and had put it in s little plastic bag. I would have incorporated into my wedding pages. I think that would have been neat!
I really like the stitching you did around your card.
Gorgeous card...what a great idea! Sadly, most of my wedding pics are stored in a Rubbermaid tub!
Thanks for this chance to win!

Such an elegant card!
Your card generated a verbal "Oh wow!" Truly stunning.
Absolutely love your card!
A special way to preserve or show off your wedding memories actually comes from my friend's mom. In her guest bedroom an entire wall is decorated with pearl frames. In each frame is a wedding invitation and a picture of either the bride, bride & groom, or wedding party. I just love this idea as she must have 30+ years of weddings displayed on her walls.
Karen D Thanks for the inspiration love the card and thanks for the chance to win
Beautiful, I also love the propasal.
so many times we file away important parts of our lives. dig them out, and make them important again! how wonderfully sentimental.
It all started with a great photo...glad you were able to include it along with keepsakes from your wedding day
