March CARDS :: Wishing You Comfort

Sorry, Bleeps, nothing new to share today. (Well, actually there is, but I forgot to photograph it, so I'll tweet it in a bit with an iPhone picture). I took most of the evening and caught up on some much needed rest. But, I never have shared my cards published in CARDS magazine, so here is the very first card that was published and in CARDS magazine! I received the news nearly a year ago and I thought how fitting it would be to revisit that time in my life. Last October, it was my first time submitting to any publication and I submitted a few cards and this is the one that was accepted. I was so excited and thrilled and thought March 2009 would never come fast enough. Well, now that it has been here and gone, I can tell you how much fun the publication process is. It can be very daunting at times trying to make sure you keep up with the calls, the administrative aspects of submitting and following instructions, then it's shipping the card off in the proper way with all of the information required. I say all of that to get to the day you see you card in the magazine either online or in print and it is really...REAL! It is one of the best feelings to see your little work of art recognized by others in a magazine.

So, take that leap like I did nearly a year ago. However, wait until you are comfortable in doing so. It took me nearly a year to actually start submitting and looking into the entire process. Make sure it is something you want to embark on and are ready to commit to. Be prepared to make holiday cards at the non-holiday time! I'll share the other published cards in a later posting, perhaps tomorrow since I have a few publication deadlines to work on myself this evening (related to Embellish and others not)!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Hump Day!!

This was made so long ago that I did not write instructions down on my blog postings back then, so if you want the details, go pick up a March CARDS magazine, they're still available online!

Your card is beautiful and well deserving of the publication! Since I just took the first baby steps by submitting a few of my cards, it is always good to hear about your journey! I have tried to figure out if CARDS only wants cards not published anywhere online. Since you are just now posting this one, I'm guessing maybe it is true?
