Nurses :: Thank You

Hey there, Bleeps! I hope you're having a great week so far. Today wraps up Nurses Week! I wanted to make something in honor of all of the nurses out there who work hard. I have a few Bleeps at Wishard Memorial Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana on the third floor (I think the L/D ward), including my cousin, Brigitte! Thanks for reading my blog and being great nurses in the "Nap!" I also want to highlight my friend, Mona Pendleton, who is an operating room nurse in Phoenix, Arizona. You're an awesome nurse and you even 'saved' my life during our hike up the mountain last month! :) There are so many other nurses out there that I am unable to list, but this card is for you and all you contribute to the medical profession.

Thanks for stopping by! If you know a nurse, see a nurse, or talk to a nurse - tell them Happy Nurse's Week! :)

Instructions
  1. Trim cream cardstock block and stamp polka dot background pattern, then ink all over.
  2. Stamp ledger on yellow cardstock, trim, distress and ink, then mat on polka dot paper.
  3. Die cut circle, stamp text background and ink it up.
  4. Stamp stethoscope and pop circle die cut off yellow/polka dotted paper.
  5. Add cabbage rose ribbon, ruffling it only in the middle.
  6. Add twill tape and tie two bows.
  7. Adhere double buttons with twine to the ribbon knots.
  8. Stamp sentiment.
  9. Adhere onto pink A2 card base and ink the edges.
Tips & Tricks
  • Adhering buttons to ribbon knots: When you do not tie the buttons onto the ribbon, adhere them with strong adhesive. I used Helmar's 450 Quick Dry Adhesive. It dries super fast and is very strong.
Supplies

Stamps :: PTI - background basics (polka dots II, text style I); Unity - notes ledger; Clear & Simple Stamps - thank you sentiment; Madison Avenue Stamps - doctor, doctor (no longer available; however similar substitutes may be found here)

Hi Ashley. Your work is beautiful and your blog is one of the ones that I visit daily because I absolutely LOVE to see what you have come up with! You have such a classic style in the way you design and your format for the supplies and instructions is by far the best I've seen! A lot of work goes into each post, I know! This card is beautiful as always and I guess being a nurse, this card is especially dear to me! Congrats on all your accomplishments and please keep up the good work, you are an inspiration to so many paper crafters!
