Autumn Wishes + Blog Giveaway

Hey there! I hope you've had a great week! To end it off, I'd like to share this autumn card. I used patterned paper, which I am super proud of since I usually ignore my stash! I wanted to create a fall card since it's finally starting to feel like autumn in the DC area. We have had a few weeks where it was unseasonably warm, but I'm not complaining because I really enjoy warm weather! But, I also like to switch up my wardrobe and I was getting sick of those tanks or dressing for a cool morning and a hot afternoon! I think it's finally time to switch my drawers - from my summer to my winter fashion collection (haha collection)!

I stamped the sentiment in a deep red ink about 3 times, then overlayed the same sentiment with a brown ink. Yep, then stitched right over that "S!" :)

I die cut two pinking circles with a circle die cut in the center, then I cut it to create an opening and accordion folded it and attached the second one and somehow flipped it to create a double "wreath."

I used a Pink Paislee artisan element and inked it with chalk and dye inks to highlight the embossed detail.

Instructions
  1. Trim patterned paper to .25" x 4".
  2. Die cut pinking circles and create accordion wreath. Adhere to patterned paper center.
  3. Trim spray and adhere to center of accordion wreath.
  4. Trim twill tape and adhere to card front.
  5. Ink artisan element and adhere to card front.
  6. Stamp sentiment.
  7. Adhere patterned paper to card front and add stitching

Is this question about crafting, or life? For crafting, I think I'm a bit of both. If I don't have a lot of time, I'll stay in my comfort zone. Otherwise, I like to experiment. In life, I really love to try new things. Especially new foods!

Fabulous card Ashley! The colors are just so rich and gorgeous. And LOVE that wreath - so clever to use the pinking circles!

Thank you for the chance to win your blog giveaway. As for your question, I love to try new things!! Cardmaking lets me explore different styles and new techniques that I normally wouldn't in my everyday world. I never feel that I have to stick to one style!

Beautiful! Love that card! I love trying new things! Always looking for new techniques to try! Thanks for the chance to win!

Oh, anyone who knows me wil tell you that I TOTALLY stay in my comfort zone in almost everything I do! I eat at the same places and get the same dishes. Shop at the same stores and wear the same types of clothes. I love it but most of my family thinks its nuts! I'vetried to come out of it for crafting, but so far not so much luck with that one!

Great card inspiration Ashley! I'm always on the lookout for ideas that suit this time of year as I have so many birthdays to think of in the run up to Christmas.
And thanks for the giveaway too - I love to try new things, mixing up styles and stepping away from the looks I personally prefer, so that I can make things in the style of the recipient. It's the perfect chance to try new techniques too!
Thanks again for the chance; hope I'm lucky!

Nice card today, I especially like the circle element.

I tend to go back and forth between comfort zone and getting wildly creative. Sometimes my brain needs a rest, so I do comfort zone things. Then I get bored with that and I'm off again, gettin' crazy.

Thanks for the chance to win!

Beautiful card today Ashley! I love the colors and the texture.

I have a wishy-washy answer for you. When my crafting time is limited (which is almost always) I stick to my comfort zone so I can get more accomplished. When I have a bit more time, I love to try new things - materials, techniques!

Audrey said...

Well to answer your question. I am very happy in my comfort zone as my style is clean and simple, but know it would be a good thing to step out of my comfort zone and experiment new things. I am trying to attempt to do that with a very amount of success LOL

Love your work very inspiring!

What a great question! I'm definitely all for trying new things. I tend to (try to) create cards that I like the look of rather than focusing on a particular look or style. Right now my fave style is vintage, but a few weeks ago it was clean and simple. Change is good!
