Most of my cards transform. Does this happen to anyone else? My husband asked me how I create cards and whether I have a plan of action. So, I thought about his question and realized that majority of the time, I start with one thing (it could be a stamp set I want to use, a tool, color, etc.) then go from there not knowing what's next.
This time, I saw "that" Martha Stewart lace border punch. Well, I'm mad at "it" because it does not work with heavy-weight papers, such as Papertrey Ink, SU!, or Bazzill cardstocks. Does anyone else out there have the same problem? When I do try to use it with the above-mentioned cardstocks, it gets jammed and does not punch properly. So, I used a light-weight cardstock from Paper Source. It worked, so I HAD to use that one piece I punched this time to get faith back in my $10 or so purchase. Looking at the card now, I think I want to put a strip of green cardstock between the pattern paper and the white lace border. Anyway...
Here is how to create it:
- Make card base by cutting cardstock to 4.25" x 11", then score at 5.5".
- Trim white (light-weight) cardstock to 4.25" x about 2", then punch lace border.
- Trim pattern paper to 4.25" x about 3", then adhere to lace border, then adhere to card base.
- Die cut a circle in white cardstock and a scalloped (larger) circle in green cardstock (using nestabilities and cuttlebug).
- Stamp sentiment on white circle, then adhere to scalloped circle.
- Die cut tree in green cardstock and adhere to circle.
- Tie white ribbon around card base to cover pattern paper edge.
- Pop circle off of ribbon.
- Add stickles to tree.
- Say I DID IT!

Oh this is just gorgeous, Ashley.
I had a problem with one of my MS punch, but Michaels was nice to replace it (but, I made sure to show them the CS...goodluck!)
I usually start with a sketch and what's the perfect image and then go from there. Whatever way you create, you sure do make a fabulous card...EVERYTIME :)
Hope you have a great weekend!
I love this card!! Such fab colours and DP!
