Sister-in-Law Birthday

Hi everyone...glad it's going on Tuesday! This card has a little history. I 'found' the stamped image sitting on my desk. I do this sometimes when an idea I have does not work, I don't always throw it away. Sometimes, I keep it to the "maybe use later" pile. For some reason, this branch looked lonely. It originally was a larger rectangle and was stamped inside an embossed rectangle. Well, I trimmed that part off and added more leaves and stickles. It's weird how you may not like something months ago, but then later, it's like a treasure trove!

This card was a special request, so I needed to think fast and make it work! I normally don't say this on my blog about my work, but I liked how it turned out. I used SCS SC218 Sketch Challenge to come up with the layout too. Doesn't it look "thanksgiviny" (I know that's not a word!)? Or is it just "earthy?" Well, you may see this again, just with a Thanksgiving sentiment in a few months!

Anyway, thanks everyone for your comments on yesterday's Guidelines card! To tell you the honest truth, I didn't like it and didn't want to post it, but did anyway for the Loonie Ladies! So, your comments mean A LOT and now I don't feel so badly about the card. Some people expressed the difficulty in using Guidelines, so I plan to make a video of me making a card using it. I hope this will help you to learn how to use it. I am NO EXPERT, but I have a few tips to share on how I got started because I too was intimidated by this stamp set! So, make sure to come back by the weekend, if not before, for a Guidelines Stamping Video! **Inside thoughts**I hope I'm not biting off too much I can chew! HEE!

Card Instructions
  1. Trim tangerine cardstock to an A2 card.
  2. Trim bitty dots paper to about 3.75" x 5", ink edges, and adhere to card base.
  3. Trim rectangles for vanilla, ripe avocado, and kraft cardstocks (so they will mat on top of each other as shown).
  4. Stamp tree on vanilla cardstock and add diamond stickles to leaves.
  5. Adhere rectangles together.
  6. Stamp sentiment on tangerine cardstock and cut into a square.
  7. Tie two twill tape ribbons around card base.
  8. Add rectangle with foam adhesive.
  9. Add sentiment.
  10. Add brads (which could be done in step 2 if you don't want them to show on the inside of the card).
