Blog Hop :: Autumn Blessings

It's Blog Hop time! Fall colors are so warm and inviting and I really enjoy designing with them. So, when I saw Nichole posted this month's Blog Hop theme, I had to join in on the fun. I chose to use burlap and stitching as my forms of texture, combined with a summer sunrise + dark chocolate + kraft color palette. I used an oldie, but goodie, First Fruits stamp set. I have always loved that wheat cluster (or whatever it is called)!

Stamping on burlap (or fabric) is really new to me. I tried to stamp with summer sunrise first to get a bit of a brightness, but the burlap is a bit too dark, so I just went for the brown. I used ColorBox pigment ink to get full coverage and stamped it twice. It worked!

Thanks for hopping by! I'll hop around later this evening!

Card Instructions
  1. Trim summer sunrise cardstock to an A2 card.
  2. Stamp polka dot background on card front (half).
  3. Add a strip of brown cardstock.
  4. On burlap, stamp wheat (repeatedly).
  5. Die cut an oval from stamped burlap.
  6. Stitch around oval, then adhere to card front with glue dots.
  7. Stamp 'ribbon,' cut out, then adhere to burlap.
  8. Add rhinestone.
  9. Stamp sentiment.
  10. Corner round edges.

Whoa! This is just beyond words! LOVE the burlap! I made my hubby come over and see it and he loved it too! BTW- you are going to love this- that twine is from Walmart! My Mom hasn't been able to find it though. :-( I cannot find anything like it here. Whah! You'll have to look and let me know if you find it!

I love seeing the stamping on fabric. I am definitely too chicken, and won't be trying that, but I love the way that it looks!!! I really like the polka dots on just the bottom part of the card, too.

I was too chicken to try stamping on burlap . . . not that I had a clue where to find any! I like that summer sunrise with the polka dots, so warm and so Fall-ish.
