Hey ya'll! Thanks so much for your support on "Watch Me Wednesday." I really appreciate it and will get working on next week's project soon! It was so rainy and gloomy here yesterday. We made Laura's dish here, had some wine, then that knocked my butt right out! I slept forever and it was only supposed to be a nap! As background, I love naps. My naps really are short sleeps, like 1-2 hours minimum. But, last night I slept for nearly 4 hours. I'm working on getting sleepy again so I don't stay awake all night! A girl's gotta get up and go to work all day today! I hope you all enjoy this card I put together a little while ago. Lots of purple...I know it's not a popular color out there, but I love colors...all of them!

Instructions

1. Trim purple cardstock to 3” x 4.5”, then stamp stars pattern and heat emboss.
2. Distress cardstock edges.
3. Die cut star from red cardstock, then emboss dots and distress the edges.
4. Pop the star off purple cardstock and add twine and rhinestone treatment.
5. Stamp ticket on yellow cardstock, cut out and pop off star.
6. Adhere panel to white card base.
7. Add buttons.

Just for fun, I thought I'd share something sweet with you. I made these cobblers a little while ago, first the big pan version, then the mini servings. Oh, how I love those mini cobblers! The little white serving dishes I purchased from Ross for like $5-7 for a set 4! I cheated and picked up the peach filling from Cracker Barrel, even though it's not that difficult to make (just throw some canned peaches and sugar together), it's definitely a time saver during the work week. I also use another shortcut and that's pie crust dough sheets (like these). I line them in the pan on the bottom, then over top. For the mini cobblers, I just tore enough pieces to line all of my cup bottoms and tops! :) Serve hot with some french vanilla ice cream and MM MMM you'll be in peach cobbler heav'n! Such a fun and quick dessert, looks like you did a whole lot, and tastes so good! Enjoy!

Embellish Stitching Color Challenge

Hey there! I just wanted to pop in and share the new Embellish Magazine Color Challenge. This time, you have to use stitching and the soft colors shown above. The challenge is sponsored by Your Next Stamp, who sells great rubber stamps. You have to stop on over and check it out.

In my card, I chose to hand stitch twine around the border of aqua mist cardstock. This idea is from by sweet blog friend, Amy Sheffer. Her designs are amazing and when I saw her stitching with twine, I had to try this out! I finally did and love the texture it adds to projects. I also made my 'cocktail' into a frozen one by adding some glitter!

These colors work great for the spring season and even Easter, so I hope you get the chance to stop by, check out the entries and DT projects and of course time to make your own.

I hope to post a shabby inspired card later...that is if I get to making one today!

Instructions

(1) Trim kraft cardstock into a 4.25" square card base.
(2) Trim aqua mist cardstock into a 4" square and hand stitch border.
(3) Stamp drink; once on aqua mist cardstock, another on white cardstock.
(4) Color umbrella stamped on white cardstock, cut out, then pop off aqua mist cardstock image.
(5) Color 'cherry' and add glitter.
(6) Stamp sentiment.
(7) Add ribbon treatment.
(8) Adhere aqua mist cardstock to card front with foam adhesive.

Celebrate...Damask Designs

When I saw K. Werner's Color Challenge earlier today, I just HAD to create something with those colors. Oh how pink and brown look so lovely together. But, when I sat down to create, I stumbled and stamped a couple of things, then said YUK! Finally, I pulled out Papertrey Ink by Dawn's new Damask Designs set and started stamping. I decided on a simple layout and added a little texture with embossed dots.

Don't you all know how much I love a damask design? Just take a look at my blog design. ALL DAMASK! :) My bedding is damask and probably a few other things I have, like a skirt! This design is so classic, yet trendy now. I like how it can be used in various color schemes.

Step-by-Step

1. Trim dark chocolate cardstock to an A2 card.
2. Trim close to cocoa cardstock to 3.75"x4.5", then stamp damask design.
3. Using a Scor-Bug, score dotted lines on bottom of cocoa cardstock.
4. Stamp sentiment.
5. Tie ribbon around cocoa cardstock into a bow.
6. Mat on white cardstock.
7. Add flowers.
