Count your Blessings

Hi Everyone!!! How was your labor day weekend?! Mine was great! I even did a bit out outlet mall shopping. I rarely do this anymore because all of my money goes to crafts (ha ha)! I found lots of great buys and fun stuff for the fall! Speaking of fall, here is a card I created for Dawn's color challenge! I went for a vintage and aged effect without distressing too much, but just some inking and generation stamping. What I realized is that Stampin' Up!'s chocolate chip pigment ink is MUCH darker than I thought. It's almost black. I think I like ColorBox chestnut pigment ink much better for a true chocolatey color. Just thought I'd share that tidbit!

I'll be back tomorrow! Enjoy your evening! I just had to squeeze this card in there before the deadline!

By the way, thanks so much for stopping by Embellish over the weekend! All the love is so much appreciated! :)

Card Instructions
  1. Trim kraft cardstock to an A2 card.
  2. Trim vintage cream cardstock and stamp text background.
  3. Stamp wheat flowers (use generation stamping technique - keep stamping until ink is gone - without re-inking).
  4. Ink the edges and adhere to brown cardstock.
  5. Wrap twine repeatedly around cardstock.
  6. Stamp peasant, cut out, and adhere to cardstock with foam adhesive.
  7. Stamp sentiment (lightly for a distressed/aged effect).
  8. Trim summer sunrise strip, ink, and adhere to card front.
  9. Add cardstock with foam adhesive.

So pretty! I love those stamps! I thought the SU! ink was darker too, and I also prefer ColorBox chalk inks, that ink is great! :) Can't wait to see the VLOG this week! :)

ITA with you about the chocolate chip ink... Sometimes I'll use it, and since it's been so long since the last time, I've forgotten how dark it is... doh!

Love how this turned out!

Gorgeous! I love that pheasant (I think that's what it is). So gorgeous! I feel the same way about chocolate chip ink. It's so dark to me too!

Love what you did with the stamp set! BTW, if you are looking for a lighter brown, try SU!'s Close to Cocoa.
