Happy Monday, Blog Peeps!! How was your World Card Making Day? I hope it was fulfilling. If not, schedule another free day you have and substitute the holiday to get some card making accomplished! That is what I plan to do!! I was out of town to witness my brother-in-law's admittance into the NC Bar. Did you see my VLOG I posted yesterday? I shared my adventures at Archiver's in Raleigh.

Today's card uses lots of patterned paper, which is definitely out of my usual design style. I absolutely turned my nose up at Cosmo Cricket's Early Bird line, but after I started using it, I discovered I really like it. I think that is very odd, but oh well, I'll take it and go! I used the ribbon strips patterned paper in the collection and cut them into strips and then adhered them on a piece of cardstock to create my own patterned paper. I guess I did not have to actually trim the strips since the patterned paper already exists in this type of design, but I had fun anyway! I also used some of my new finds, such as 7 Gypsies Chip Tags - Elements and Sassafras chipboard letters.

Card Instructions
  1. Trim pure poppy cardstock into an A2 card (4.25" x 5.5" - trim 8.5" x 11" cardstock in half vertically).
  2. Trim strips of patterned paper and adhere to cardstock.
  3. Add chipboard scalloped edge, then adhere to card front with foam adhesive.
  4. Add chipboard strips, then adhere chipboard alphabet.
  5. Draw polka dots on chipboard with red marker and add button.
  6. Add rhinestones.
My Goodies
  • Ink - Stampin' Up! - real red marker
  • Paper - Papertrey Ink - pure poppy; Cosmo Cricket - early bird collection (ribbon strips)
  • Embellishments - Sassafras - chipboard letters; Papertrey Ink - button; Craft Supply - jewelry cord/twine; KaiserCraft - rhinestones; 7 Gypsies - chipboard elements

You know it's good to hear someone else does that! I can't tell you how many times I've disliked it, but once I used it really like it! Super cute card.
