The Play Date Cafe

Hey Everyone! This week, I'm a guest designer for The Play Date Cafe. They host weekly color challenges on their blog. You should go check them out. Lots of inspiration and fun! This week's colors are pink, white, black, and gray. In the color challenge inspiration image, I focused on the colors as they were presented. So, since there was a lot of black, I used a black card base and so forth. You can be inspired to create on so many levels and this is just the one I used this time. Although I've never tried that method before, it worked here and I thought I'd share just in case you all wanted to try that out too! That's why there's only a hint of pink in this card. By the way, the pearls were Mac's idea! Hey...who is really designing the cards, right?! :) Thanks so much for having me "Play Date!" Take care and thanks for your visit.

Instructions
  1. Trim black cardstock to create an A2 card base.
  2. Adhere frame element to card front center.
  3. Adhere ribbon loop to metal quote and then adhere to frame element.
  4. Add pearls.
Supplies

Cardstock :: PTI - true black
Embellishments :: Pink Paislee - artisan elements frame; KaiserCraft - pearls; PTI - sweet blush twill tape; Making Memories - metal quote

No offence Ashley but the pearls are the best bit (so dramatic on black).

gorgeous! who knows maybe by next year mac will start making cards...it would be cool to see a guy paper crafter. i try to get amir involved but it ends up being a disaster with holes, dead flowers and smeared food stain. hahaha

Hello from the U.K.- just to say that I've just seen your 'ruffled ribbon' tutorial, Ashley- not seen anything like it before. Am also following your blog, as a Black Woman in the U.K. it's good to follow your blog, tell friends about it, as not many black crafters here in the crafts scene.
Am going to try your ribbon technique now- Thanks.
Keep well and creative-
Cathy

Yet another lovely card Ashley! I love my daily inspiration from your blog, your work is gorgeous. It was funny reading about Mac telling you how to make part of the card. I get that from Ian and my 10 year old daughter too! It's really fab having you guest designing with us this week at the Play Date Cafe!
