 Happy Saturday, Bleeps! I hope you're enjoying your weekend! We're heading to a weekend destination wedding to photograph! Yippeee!! Although I wish I was at home in my studio crafting away, it's great to get out and see something new and fresh, especially a wedding. I hope to return full of inspiration.
Today's card has a lot of STUFF! It is not my usual card design. I spent a lot of time on it. I started it, left the house and went out to dinner, then came back to it! I hope you like it. The sketch was inspired by Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge, although I changed it up a lot there!
Instructions - Trim kraft cardstock into an A2 card by trimming an 8.5" x 11" cardstock vertically in half.
- Trim yellow cardstock to fit card front and adhere.
- On a piece of ocean tides cardstock, stamp the woodgrain background (tone-on-tone).
- Trim the corners off of the edges to create a tag.
- Take a piece of red cardstock, fold it over the top of the tag, then add an eyelet.
- Tie thick jewelry cord/twine into a bow.
- Adhere felt deer to tag and add rhinestones.
- Take a strip of fabric and sew a pleat, then adhere to the bottom of the card front.
- Adhere the tag to the card front with foam adhesive.
- Tie ribbon around card front into a knot.
- Using a word processing software, type sentiment and print on red cardstock strip. (Tip: If you have a strip of cardstock, print the sentiment on regular printer paper, then lightly adhere cardstock strip overtop area where sentiment prints, then re-print on same page on the strip of cardstock, then pull off gently to remove! No wasted paper!)
- Adhere sentiment to card front with foam adhesive.

Today's card was inspired by Beate's Inspiration Challenge, a Martha Stewart photo. I kept the card extremely simple and used only scraps to create it. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, so I thought I would send some grateful energy out your way! I'm grateful for each of my blog readers and all of the comments and encouraging words you send. Thank you. Please come by tomorrow because I plan to take some Thanksgiving table setting photos (with food and all)! I hope I can get my paper art table settings finished!

Instructions
- Make card base by trimming cardstock to 4.25" x 5.5" then score at 5.5" and set aside.
- Trim squares out of vanilla and brown cardstocks, making brown cardstock slightly larger.
- Trim green cardstock into a rectangle to fit slightly outside of the brown square.
- Stamp leaves on vanilla cardstock.
- Adhere squares together.
- Tie ribbon around olive cardstock in a bow.
- Adhere entire focal point off of card base using dimensionals.
- Stamp sentiment on card base.

  This is a super easy wedding card to do. I was inspired by the colors and lines in the photo pictured right from Beate's Challenge. I think these would make great spring/summer wedding colors. A pale blue and brown with a touch of orange. To make this card: - Make card base.
- Stamp curly label in orange ink.
- Stamp ampersand in orange ink.
- Stamp bride/groom in brown ink.
- Cut out curly label.
- Score vertical lines every 1/2" on card base (you can barely see this in the photo).
- Wrap brown ribbon around card base.
- Pop curly label off the ribbon and center.

 Did anyone have to retake their picture in school? Well, I did in the 7th grade and the retake was bad! Well, this picture needs to be retaken! I did not feel like going downstairs to the photo center, so I just took it in my MESSY, NASTY studio. I know you can see where I stamped-off, but it's the weekend, so I'll let it slide and I hope you do too! This card is for Loonie Stamper's Challenge using Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge. I kind of cheated on both. For the Loonie Challenge, I did not use a yellow/orange. I could have squeezed it in there somehow, but it just didn't 'go.' For Beate's Challenge, I did not place a strip across the square, but I did put a partial strip as the sentiment, so I thought that was enough! I'm going to try to remember to take another picture and post it later, because I keep looking at it and it's dark and you really can't see the card well.  It's Wednesday, and time for Beate's Inspiration Challenge. This week, I was inspired by the birds and the mobile. I did not use too many of the colors, well because there were way too many to pick! A second card of the holiday collection! Remember, colors may be altered. To make this card: - Make card base by cutting cardstock to 5.25" x 10.5", then score at 5.25".
- Trim brown cardstock to 5" x 5".
- Die cut circles on green cardstock, then stamp image on each circle. Stamp an additional image on purple cardstock.
- Cut birds from purple cardstock then pop off one of the circles.
- Using crop-a-dile, punch and set an eyelet at the top of each circle.
- Using paper piercer, puncture paper with a hole where you want each circle to drop down on your brown cardstock.
- Tie circles to the cardstock by using twine and tying it around in a bow.
- Adhere circles into place with glue dot.
- Stamp sentiment on purple cardstock, then partial mat on green cardstock.
- Pop sentiment off of brown cardstock and adhere brown cardstock to purple card base.

 Happy Hump Day!! For Beate's Inspiration Challenge today, I have designed a thank you card from a Pottery Barn bedroom photo. I was inspired by the colors, texture of the bed, and floral print bedding. Here is how I created it: - Trimmed card base to 4.25" x 11", then scored at 5.5"
- Dry embossed card base front with distressed stripes embossing folder and Cuttlebug (embossed vertically and horizontally for a weave effect - not evident in the picture)
- Stamped flowers on white cardstock, then cut out.
- Trimmed about .5" blue cardstock and adhered to bottom of card base.
- Stitched blue cardstock.
- Adhered flowers to card base with tacky glue and dimensionals.
- Stamped sentiment in black ink.
- Tied ribbon around card base and tied in a bow.

  I'm back today for Beate's Inspiration Challenge. I was inspired by the colors and some of the designs, such as the rug and clock. I did not really like this design, but Mac does, so that made me feel a little better. I thought NYC zapped all of my creative energy! To create this card: - Trim card base to 4.252" x 11", then score it at 5.5"
- Use curvy trimmer to cut orange, white, gray and black cardstocks in varied widths, then adhere to card base.
- Make two circles, one smaller than the other with the white and black cardstocks, then trim a small portion off of the right sides of the circles.
- Pop the white circle off of the black circle, then pop both off of the card base.
- Place "U R" thickers on the white cardstock.
- Punch small holes out of the orange cardstock, then adhere to the white circle.
- Handwrite "fabulous" on orange cardstock, then pop off card base and under white circle.
- Trim the top right portion of the card to make it curve with the circle.

  Hi everyone! It's Wednesday and I was able to get some sleep after hearing the great news about being chosen for the Best Christmas Project for PTI October Guest Star Stamper Contest last night. I was able to complete Beate's Inspiration Challenge, so here it is! I was inspired by the color, design and the fringe! So, I made the card have some fringe. I used twill tape to make it have more texture. It is very simple, but that silver embossing is amazing. When you feel it, it feels so rich. I used Filigree detailed embossing powder (available at PTI). I forgot to mention that my 'old-new' sewing machine works perfectly! It can do amazing stitches, so I'll be glad to share them with you soon! Instructions
- Trim cardstock to 4.25" x 11", then score at 5.5" and set aside.
- Trim rose red and grey cardstock to 4.25" x approximately 2.5". Then trim about 1/2" off of the grey cardstock to have two pieces.
- With the stamp wheel and Versamark, stamp the design on the rose red cardstock and the left edge of the card base (overlapping the scored edge).
- Apply silver embossing powder to the card base and heat.
- Layer the small grey and rose red cardstocks.
- Cut fringe on the large grey cardstock, then adhere next to the rose red cardstock.
- Tie twill tape around card base between fringe and rose red cardstock.
- Add beaded hat pin to the ribbon knot.
- Stamp sentiment on rose red cardstock and emboss with silver embossing powder, then adhere under fringe.
- Adhere pearls to sentiment cardstock.

 It's Wednesday, and time for another Be Inspired Challenge. This time, I was really inspired, but that does not mean I produced the best result! I was inspired to use a transparency on a card because of the glass jars in the photo. I wanted to emboss on the transparency to see how that worked. It did not melt the transparency as I thought it might, but it did not 'clean' well, which meant it leftovers. You can see that in the photo. After the project was done, I realized I could have embossed the navy cardstock to get the same look. Duh! But, then I would not have tried a new technique. I think I'll use rub-ons on transparencies from here on! HA! This card reminds me of a sailor/beach card! In the photo, I thought the dark color in the pillows was navy. But, is it black? I'm not color blind (usually), but this color interpretation became quite a challenge.  It's Wednesday, and time for my submission for Beate's Inspiration Challenge. I was severely stumped when I saw the inspiration for the week! I had no idea what to do! I am not too keen of abstract art, so this canvas was truly a challenge. However, it did include some natural elements that I really like, such as colors, trees, and flowers. So, yesterday, I jotted down some ideas of stamps to use and went from there. Later, I stamped the tree image but once that part was complete was not inspired to complete the abstract look. So, I made it go "my" way! I felt that this canvas was kind of solemn, so I made my card feel "comfort." Here is what I came up with!

 It's that time of the week again...for Beate's Inspiration Challenge. This week's inspiration is sponsored by Simrin glassware. These glasses are so neato (remember that word?). For this challenge, I was inspired by the frosty glasses, the branches, and of course some of the colors! I decided to design a mini-card this time! To start, the card base is trimmed to size. Square nestabilities are used to create the window. An additional two square nestabilities are used to die cut the 'frame.' The branches are stamped on vellum paper and heat embossed. Trim around the excess to fit the window and adhere to the reverse side of the window. Add ribbon, sentiment, and flower + button. Card Size: 3.5 x 3.5 I took this photo using my new Sony Cybershot! It's so crisp, you can almost feel the embossing! Oh yeah...no Wii for me last night...WAY too sore!  Back for this week's Be Inspired Challenge. This weeks inspiration is from CB2. The designs are so clean, yet modern. For this challenge, I was inspired by the colors, pattern, and room layout. So, I selected a striped pattern paper and a solid cardstock. Next, I selected a foliage stamp and stamped in a lighter orange, then a darker orange.  This picture does not do this card any justice! The card features a lightly ink stamped with flowers, polka dots, and the sentiment. My motivation was to make it monochromatic, using Papertrey Ink's "perfect match" cardstock, ribbon, and ink of aqua mist. Well, I think it looks washed out. In person, it looks a little better. I used Beate's Inspiration Challenge to think of trying this technique. So, in the end I think I learned something. Don't do that again, UNLESS it is to create a background design. In person, I have received good feedback, I think because of its simplicity. But, this is way too simple for me. I like COLOR! So, this is just to show you an example of my 'not so perfect world' in paper art!  Inspired by a few ideas this time around: (1) Beate's Inspiration Challenge, (2) Tessa's card, and (3) Savitri's concept. To start, Beate's weekly inspiration challenges are great because you can use any element of them as inspiration. I've never completed a scrapbook page after being inspired, but something sparked tonight! Ever since Tessa's Card Creations, I've been thinking about those silly posies and how easy they were to make using scraps and since I've been on my "use scraps" kick, I wanted to use this fabulous design. Lastly, Savitri, a new paper artist I've discovered while blogging, showed this ingenious idea of using a box (what basically everyone has) and incorporating it into their paper art! The only non-scrap item (I should've just said new!) was the red solid cardstock for the scrapbook page. I thought that was an exception to the rule since I needed to do a full 12x12! This page should be called raggedy-ann because that's just how it looks! I love the distressed look, which is pretty 'ratty.' I framed the scrapbook page by stitching in black around the edges all over the place. I added torn scraps of cardstock in colors from Beate's Inspiration and from the old photo (yes...that's ME!). The cardboard box scrap also picks up Beate's Inspiration with the linear design (pictured below, right). I added the crumpled posies and buttons to embellish. Instead of journaling, I just added the date and a title emphasizing what I was doing (in my walker). I really liked how this turned out because of the imperfection that it shows...all done on purpose! I also really like the texture.  
 Beate is back from summer break and so are her challenges. I decided to participate in the first one upon her return. She used this bedding as a challenge to inspire others to make paper art creations.  Here is the card I created. I was inspired by the colors and stripes. The bedding was so rigid with its stripes that I decided to replicate that style. I applied the various color cardstocks to the card base. I tied a black ribbon around the color cardstocks. I stamped squares and images in the squares, then punched them out using 1/2-inch shapers by CM. I popped them off of a white cardstock, then popped it off of the ribbon. I really like the simplicity of the card and of course the fact that I used scraps!
