I designed this girly princess birthday card using a retired Stampin' Up! hostess set. I thought I would use the stamps mostly for weddings (because there is also a dress and umbrella - for showers - in the set), but I discovered it is quite versatile. I stamped the cake and the candles in black ink. Then, I colored in the flowers and flames using my markers. Last, I added various colored stickles to the center for glitter and pop. I matted it on a scalloped edge square nestabilities die-cut and popped off of the purple card base. I placed a ribbon around the card base and tied a knot. At the bottom, I stamped the sentiment and added pink rhinestones to each side for balance. I am still editing the pictures of the canvas book I can't wait to show you! Hopefully, I will post it tomorrow! My GoodiesStamp: CTMH Say it in Style (happy birthday); SU! Blooming with Happiness Ink: Black Paper: CTMH purple; PTI pink, white Accessories: American Craft ribbon; KI Memories rhinestones; Square Nestabilities; Cuttlebug; ZIP Markers; Stickles Technique: Stamped
This is a simple birthday card I created the other night. Although it looks well thought out and designed, I actually had to cross some hurdles to decide on this final design. I started out with stamping leave on the card stock, then thought it did not look right. So, instead of wasting paper, I just covered it and made a new creation. I like this one MUCH better! My GoodiesStamp: PTI-Out on a Limb (birthday wishes) Ink: White Paper: 29th Street Market - "Fresh Beauty Perfect Posies Greenery"; Chocolate Chip Accessories: American Craft Thickers; Ribbon Charm; PTI Aqua Mist ribbon; Brown ribbon Technique: Stamped
"On Your Retirement" circle tag was created with rub-ons. I rubbed on each letter to create the phrase. Then, "Congrats!" was stamped. It looked plain, so I jazzed it up with rhinestones. The circles were die-cuts of nestabilities using my cuttlebug. I stamped the background pattern with versamark, then heat embossed with a chocolate powder. I added a satin ribbon for elegance! My GoodiesStamp: Inkadinkado Ink: Chocolate Chip; VersaMark Paper: Bazzil Basics Canteloupe Accessories: Craft dryer, Chocolate Emboss Powder, Rhinestones, Rub-Ons, Ribbon, Hodgepodge Kit, Circle Nestabilities, Cuttlebug Technique: Stamped
To send simple, yet fun "birthday wishes," I stamped the design three times with three separate inks. I cut each image out and then adhered the two on the end. I popped the image in the center for dimension. All images were mounted on top of three cardstocks that matched the ink used. I added a ribbon and ribbon charm over the canteloupe cardstock and three brads on the opposite side. For an added element, I stamped a portion of the envelope and used stickles for glitter. My GoodiesStamp: AmyButler K&Co Stamp Ink: CTMH Garden Green; Autumn Terracotta; Desert Sand Paper: PTI-kraft; Bazzil Basics Canteloupe, Green, Brown Accessories: ribbon; brads; ribbon charm Technique: Stamped
I know you want to sing it! Ceeeeeeeleeebrate Gooood Tiiiiiimes Come On....... Okay, well it was something to get you going! I cased my own card! I liked how the flowers popped of the page. This was for a co-worker's birthday who loves pink and green! I even stamped the envelope (see background). My GoodiesStamp: Curvy Verses (sentiment); Friendship Blooms (everything else) Ink: CTMH Topiary Paper: PTI-pink, yellow, white, berry Accessories: buttons; brads Technique: Stamped
Most of my paper art creations are one-of-a-kind. I can never get them to quite look alike because I find something I want to do different. Here is a 'series', so-to-speak, of cards with the same color inspiration! These colors remind me of the southwest. Ever been to New Mexico? Well this screams Albuquerque! They have different messages, but some elements are the same, such as the flower, button, and layout. My GoodiesStamp: PTI Women of Life (sentiment); Art Warehouse Limited Edition Journaling Stamp set Ink: Chocolate Chip; VersaMark Paper: Chocolate Chip; Kraft-PTI; blue-DCWV; apricot-Bazzil Basics coolcanteloupe Accessories: Cricut Accent Essentials; button; hemp Technique: Stamped

I got my only request to do a Father's Day card. I guess men do not care for cards like women! I have plenty of stamp sets for countless ideas, but this is what I came up with. This card is cased from Carolyn's card. I had to have the sanded stamp because of her card! I changed the four square stamps and added brown waxy flaxy. The brown cardstock is stamped with a "sanded" stamp in white ink. The cream cardstock is stamped with the same sanded stamp in brown ink. Then, I die-cut four squares using my Square Nestabilities and matted on green cardstock.
Here is the inside of the card! My GoodiesStamp: CTMH Just Like You (father's day sentiments); PTI Father Knows Best (tree & compass; inside sentiment) Ink: Chocolate Chip; CTMH Topiary Paper: Chocolate Chip; Very Vanilla; CTMH Green cardstock Accessories: Brown Waxy Flaxy Technique: Stamped
I hope everyone had a great weekend! I had a very BUSY weekend. I had to finish a baby scrapbook, gift bag and card by Sunday afternoon. Well...I met my deadline! I think I work better under pressure; not having time to think whether this or that will look better! Pictured right is a close-up of a gift bag for expecting mother, Emerald! I customized the bag, card, and baby scrapbook for her. This project was for my mother to give as a gift at the shower. Here is the card I created. I used the New Arrival Cricut cartridge to make the pregnant die-cut mommy. It is difficult to find some ethnic cards, so the Cricut and various shades of paper make that possible! I made the mommy have a pink dress with black pants, pumps and purse! I embellished with black stickles around the empire waistline, created an eye for her face, and also placed a K&Co adhesive pearl to accent the purse! I placed the entire die-cut on white card stock that is matted on black card stock and pink polka dot paper (K&Co 12x12 stack). The base of the card is solid black card stock. The sentiment "you're expecting" is a clear stamp set from AC Moore (can't recall now - will post later)! This picture shows the bag and the card together. I recycled an older bag (that was never used by the way from my previous business). I covered the old logo with solid black card stock and placed a large pink ribbon around it and tied it in a knot. I added a larger die-cut, matted with same matching papers to the black card stock. Lastly, I added her name, Emerald, for personalization. All things paper is my specialty, so that includes gift bags too! Scrapbook layouts for the baby girl book I created are posted here and here.
Yesterday was my sister's birthday, so I waited to post this card today (after she got a chance to open it)! She requested a "bling" birthday card and has a list of paper art supplies she likes and dislikes, so I TRIED to keep that in mind when making one for her. I'm waiting for her to start creating with me too one day since she often offers her opinion on what she likes and dislikes! To create this card, I stamped the flower on the card base and also on brown card stock. I used white craft ink, then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I cut out the brown flowers and popped them off of the green card base. I also used my hole-punch on my crop-a-dile to punch holes around the flower (picture does not show this element well). I added rhinestone "bling" to the centers of the flowers. I used chipboard letters and paper-pierced them with green pattern/solid cardstock. I adhered the the paper onto the chipboard then glued to the brown cardstock. I used a creative memories wave paper trimmer to get that effect. Last, I stamped the "happy birthday" sentiment in the wave and between flowers. My GoodiesStamp: Inkadinkado Doodle Flowers; PTI-Father Knows Best (happy birthday) Ink: SU! Chocolate Chip Paper: 29th Street Market - "Fresh Beauty Perfect Posies Greenery"; Double Mates - Creamy Cocoa Accessories: Chipboard Letters by Paper Studio (hobby lobby); Rhinestones Technique: Stamped; Paper Pierced
Since I was out of town for the last few days, I almost forgot a couple of anniversaries! Quick, fast, and in a hurry, I created these two cards with the same stamp set! This card was fairly simple by applying the pattern paper on the blue card stock base. I stamped the birds on the limb and the sentiment on the cream card stock. I added buttons for flair! My GoodiesStamp: Verve Visual Anniversary Birds Ink: SU! Chocolate Chip Paper: Pattern Paper - Chatter Box Chocolate Woods; Cream card stock; Blue card stock - CTMH Accessories: Buttons; Twine Technique: Stamped Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5" I stamped the birds on a limb, then cut out. I dry embossed the blue card stock and popped the birds on a limb off of it. I matted it on cream and 'sanded' pattern paper. Polka dot ribbon was added. All was matted on blue card stock with a scalloped edge (created by circle punches). I stamped the sentiment on the card base at the bottom center. My GoodiesStamp: Verve Visual Anniversary Birds Ink: SU! Chocolate Chip; Chestnut Roan ColorBox Cat's Eye Paper: Pattern Paper - Chatter Box Chocolate Woods; Cream & Blue card stock - CTMH Accessories: Cuttlebug; Swiss Dots Embossing Folder; Ribbon - AC Moore Technique: Stamped Card Size: 5" x 7"
I designed this card last night after receiving the request that my client needed it for the weekend. Sometimes, I can accommodate rush jobs! I had just enough time to squeeze these two cards in for twins!! To create this card, I started with polka dot pattern paper. I used Heide Swapp star chipboard and paper pierced the polka dot paper and the reverse red paper on the stars. I sanded the edges of the chipboard after applying the paper to smooth out any unfinished edges. Then, I inked the edges with cranberry ColorBox cat's eye. I applied the red paper-pierced chipboard stars on the polka dot paper-pierced stars with a glue dot. I applied the stars on a dry embossed white card stock. I stamped "superstar" on the bottom right corner. To personalize it, I used foam stickers from The Stamping and Scrapbooking Room! I used my SU! ticket corner punch to punch the corners of the white card stock. Then, I applied dew dots to each corder! My GoodiesStamp: Verve Visual Great Expectations (Superstar) Ink: Cranberry ColorBox Cat's Eye; CTMH Cranberry Paper: Pattern Paper (polka dot/red) Let's Get Together; White card stock - PTI; Red card stock - Michaels Accessories: Small thickers-Stamping and Scrapbooking Room; Dew Dots; Cuttlebug; Swiss Dots Embossing Folder Technique: Stamped; Paper-Pierced Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5" I designed this card by first selecting my pattern paper. I just received it from the UPS guy yesterday, so I HAD to use it! It is from CTMH (Let's Get Together Paper Packet). It is a kit of pattern paper and coordinating solid card stock. I used the yellow card stock as my base and scored it using my new Scor-Pal! I layered the pattern paper on blue and red card stock (that did not come in my paper kit). I found a remnant of the stitched grosgrain ribbon and thought YES, I can use a scrap! It wasn't large enough to tie a bow, so I trimmed it at an angle and added cute yellow brads! I stamped the sentiment, "I'm so proud of you" with Cranberry ink on white card stock and layered it on the blue and red card stock, then popped it off of the ribbon. I thought I was done, but remembered I must add Taty's name! So, I punched circles with my Creative Memories circle punch, then added the small thickers for her name! It looks like I had this all thought out, but most of the time, my cards just "fall" into place! Lastly, I added green waxy flax from CTMH and tied in a bow. In the picture it moved, but it is supposed to be to the right of the sentiment! My GoodiesStamp: Verve Visual Great Expectations Ink: CTMH Cranberry Paper: Pattern Paper - CTMH; White card stock - PTI; Red card stock - Michaels; Blue card stock - CTMH; Green Card stock - CTMH; Yellow Card stock - CTMH Accessories: American Crafts Thickers; Brads Technique: Stamped Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"
This is the another card I created for PCL Interiors. Again, I was provided with a fabric sample and a color chart as inspiration for the card. PCL Interiors made pillows out of the fabric swatch provided. So, I decided to create something similar to a pillow. I die-cut the scallop square with the blue cardstock. I trimmed the fabric swatch and applied around heavy cardboard, then popped off of the blue cardstock. I added the client's first names on top of the fabric using letter brads from The Stamping and Scrapbooking Room. I place dew dots between the two names for division and pizazz! I added twine and tied bows to decorate the right side of the card. I also added the "thank you" rub-on sentiment with a SU! hodegpodge nameplate hardware.
My GoodiesPaper: CTMH baby blue card stock; Recollections pre-scored card Accessories: Brad letters; Dew Dots; Twine; Hodgepodge Kit; Rub-on; Fabric (client provided); Cuttlebug; Square Nestabilities Card Size: 5" x 7"
"Gaile" is a client of PCL Interiors. This is a thank you card for Gaile for client appreciation. I was asked to create a thank you card and to use the client's name and the black and white print on the card. PCL Interiors framed a few prints and used the colors on the card in the design room. The prints were of various foreign places. So, I too framed the "mini" print. I placed the frame on top of two torn card stocks and then stitched around the third card stock. I added twine around the frame for an additional element. The buttons were applied next to the Basic Grey chipboard letters with twine used as the thread! I inked the chipboard letters in Purely Pomegranate. The placement of the chipboard letters were not even...on purpose because I sometimes everything on the 'straight and narrow' is not as unique!
My GoodiesInk: SU! Purely Pomegranate Paper: DCWV Metallic card stock; CTMH Green Accessories: Basic Grey Chipboard letters; Black and White print(from client); Metal Frame - CTMH; Janome Sew Mini; Gold Thread; Twine; Buttons Card Size: 5" x 7"
Sorry for not posting, but I had a long trip on the road to Indianapolis yesterday. I finally made it and am enjoying myself with my family. This is another card I made for PCL Interiors. She will give it as a thank you card to her clients. She provided the fabric she used to make window treatments. I tried to be creative and make three "windows" then include the couple's initials in each "window." I popped the window and the letters off of the fabric. The photo is shadowy, but you can see the "much appreciated" sentiment stamped underneath the focal point. I zig zag stitched around the two card stocks to compliment the PCL Interior's sewing of the window treatments! My GoodiesStamp: PTI Garden of Life Ink: SU! Chocolate Chip Paper: DCWV Metallic card stock; CTMH autumn terracotta Accessories: Square Nestabilities; Metal Letters; Fabric (from client); Cuttlebug; Janome Sew Mini; Gold Thread Card Size: 5" x 7"
What is the Scor-Pal?I have wanted the Scor-Pal since I discovered it earlier this year. It is a light-weight tool that allows you to score paper easily and effectively. Most people probably use a scoring tool or a scoring blade to score their paper prior to folding. This has worked for me for months, but I find that I do not get the professional score that you see in manufactured pre-scored card kits. Well, if you want that look and precise professional scores and folds, then you need the Scor-Pal! It has measurements so you can easily decide where you need to score your paper. It also comes with its own scoring tool! Is it easy to use?Last night, I used my Scor-Pal for the first time only by quickly glancing at the directions on the back of the packaging. I knew exactly where I wanted to score, so I just placed my card stock down and scored, using the tool provided, with consistent medium force. I could not believe it! The first time, a perfect score. The card folded so easily! What is the damage? The Scor-Pal is reasonably priced at $39.99. You can purchase it at Archiver's or online. If you make a lot of scores, then this product is a necessity. It also helps me out by not having to switch my straight blade to a scoring blade, which creates more productivity for me. It is light-weight and easily storable under my table for quick use and re-storing. The bone folder that it comes with stores in a locking position at the top so it does not get lost. Other InformationScor-Pal features a great web site with tips and ideas for you to use your device in more ways than imaginable! They have an accessible magazine with ideas on gate folds, recipe boxes, and other gifts. Here is the first score I created using the Scor-Pal. Although you may not be able to actually see it, it is there! This card is the first of four I created for a customer. She is giving her clients thank you cards for using her interior design services. You can check out her work here. I will post the remaining cards later this week. She requested customization for each card, most with elements she incorporated in the designs she created in their homes. To create this card, I cut a piece of of the pattern paper in half, then reversed it, so one side would be "blank." Then, I added ribbon and ruffeled it on the right side. To create the ruffle, I made a loop and placed glue dots to secure each ruffle. Next, I added white thickers to create "Mary." I did not like the stark white letters, so I inked them in yellow, orange, and brown to create a more finished look. I added brads at the top and bottom. I placed the flower on the left of the card for a popped element of the pattern paper. The card needed a sentiment, so I used rub-ons to create the words "thank you." This was more time consuming than the typical rub-ons because I had to place each letter in its proper position to create the right angle I wanted. Yep, another baby! As I stated in a previous post, babies are 'in style' for 2008. Baby Lauren was born earlier this month and someone wanted to send her and her parents congratulations. This card is a special request for a special person! This card is for a college graduate who is pursuing a medical career! I customized it to fit her future by stamping a stethoscope and some syringes. I also included her name on the card! The sentiment is popped of of the card for added dimension. I created this onesie baby shower card for a client in last month and forgot to share with you! So, here it is! The expecting mother was having a girl, so I made it really pink! I created the onesie out of white card stock by sketching it and making the neck and leg cuts with half of a circle punch. I decorated the onesie with ribbon and brads and then stamped "baby shower" in the center! My GoodiesStamp: Fiskars Baby Ink: CTMH Bubblegum Paper: white card stock; Pattern Paper - Bo Bunny Ocean dot Blush dot (pink) Accessories: pink brads; AC ribbon Technique: Stamped Card Size: 5" x 7"
Last month, I received a request to create thank you cards for an organization. The color inspiration was baby blue and pink. I was also to think about the chapter flower of rosebud, so I created a few choices for the client to select and here are a couple. Can you guess which design she chose? Well, it was my favorite (the first card shown below)! To create this card, I first cut my aqua mist 8.5 " x 11"card stock into 4.25" by 11", then scored it at 5.5" and folded. Next, I dry embossed it with the Cuttlebug and Spots and Dots embossing folder. TIP: Make sure the negative side is on the side of the paper you wish the embossing to be on (the side with the "Cuttlebug" logo is the negative side). Then, I cut pink card stock. It is popped off of the card as well. I paper pierced this example, but stitched around others for more pizazz. Next, I used Marvy Uchida circle punches for the pink and blue pattern paper punches. I used a Creative Memories circle punch for the white circle. I popped each circle off of the other with dimensionals and added the velvet brad. For other cards, I used pom pom balls for chalking as the pink center - a great substitution. For the stem of the "flower" I trimmed a very thin piece of spring moss card stock with my Martha Stewart precision scissors and applied to the paper. To stamp the "Thank You" sentiment, I placed the clear stamp on my acrylic block and curved it to fit the curve in the stem. I added the popped flower bud to the stem for completion. My GoodiesStamp: PTI Women of Life Ink: CTMH Twilight Paper: PTI Aqua Mist, Spring Moss; CTMH pink; white card stock; Pattern Paper - Bo Bunny Ocean dot (blue) Blush dot (pink) Accessories: MM Velvet brad; Spots and Dots embossing folder; Cuttlebug Technique: Stamped; Dry Embossed; Distressed; Sewed Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5" This card was simple to complete. After cutting and scoring the the card stock to create my base card, I cut white and pink card stock for the center. Then, I trimmed the ribbon and applied around the pink card stock. I applied it to the white card stock. Next, I stamped the rose buds and cut them out. I cut white card stock squares and popped them off of two of them. Finally I stamped the "many thanks" sentiment and popped all three squares off of the pink card stock.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great weekend!
congratsI made this card to wish someone congratulations on 'something!' It can be for school or any other accomplishment or good news! I used my corner punch (removed the guard) to create the scalloped edge at the top of the card! It was my first time using this technique and I like it! I left the scalloped edge kind of popped off for a three-dimensional effect. The American Craft Thickers are amazing! However, I suggest using some glue dots to make sure they are securely affixed to your paper. Although they are self-adhesive, I find that they are easily removed, so to set them in place, I add a few glue small glue dots on the back of each letter! My GoodiesPaper: MM 5th Avenue pattern paper; Archiver's Pre-scored card Accessories: Red grosgrain ribbon; SU! Corner Punch' American Crafts Thickers; MM 5th Avenue Flower/Button Card Size: 5" x 5" a scrappy recovery I used all scraps (minus the pre-scored card) to create this card! I am so proud of it! I have so many scraps, so I feel a sense of accomplishment when I use some of my scraps to create a new card! I stitched around the edges of the green card stock with a straight stitch, going over it a few times for added elements! I added an embossed neutral card stock on top and popped it off of the green card stock. I also distressed the edges. The ribbon is simply tied around the green card stock. The sentiment is added for a friend of ours who is recovering from a stroke. We wish him a speedy recovery! To finish it off, I inked the edges of the card with my cat's eye. Here are a few pictures from my birthday celebration this weekend! I did not get any pictures of me playing my new wii! That is so much fun if you do not already have one...GET ONE! It is so interactive and not only for children, but for the entire family! Stay fit with the wii!
This graduation card was customized for the school colors (blue and gold). Various stars are stamped in blue and gold ink on white card stock. I also stamped some stars in gold on blue card stock, then popped them off the paper for added dimension. I layered it on blue card stock then used a ticket punch for the corners of the white card stock. I added gold brads to the corners. The sentiment is stamped in blue at the bottom of the kraft pre-scored card from Michaels. The inside featured white card stock with a graduation sentiment by Ralph Waldo Emerson and more blue stars. There was a matching envelope with blue stars as well!
